Ruby Roulette (she/her) does story-telling at its sexiest.
As a burlesque performance artist, HoopYogini instructor, and thrifty fashionista, I mix the taboo with the sacred both on and off stage. I have been a student of creative movement for most (if not all) of my life.
Growing up in Cincinnati, I trained in theatre, dance, and circus arts. Through hoop dance, I found a deepened spiritual connection and doorway (round and open) into sacred sensuality. I studied physical theatre at The Commedia School in Copenhagen and often snuck in my hula hoop. While living in Prague, I discovered a passion for burlesque. I went from taking my first burlesque class to performing on stage at a Czech festival a few months later. Back in the US, I became a founding member and leader of the burlesque and drag troupe, Smoke & Queers.
As a queer, neurodivergent woman, I feel deeply the limitations of social tradition. Burlesque is my way of exploring the boundaries of femininity and camp while reclaiming my body and sensuality. My work explores radical self-expression, sensual living, and joyful creativity through mindful movement. I am passionate about helping you re-write your relationship with shame so you can declare yourself a wild, sexual being on your own terms!
Outside of this corner of the internet, you can find me singing in the shower, baking, sifting through treasures at thrift stores and vintage shops, snuggling with my rescue kitten and talking about past lives with my love, Jace (he/they), at our current home in North Hollywood, California.
